Campaign splash at SPATEX

SPATEX 2023 is set to be the launchpad for the Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) and British Heart Foundation’s fund-raising Swim to the Beat campaign.
On the second day of the wet leisure showcase, Wednesday, February 1, the campaign initiative will be making a splash on the Aqua Warehouse Stand E2, with a team of swimmers demonstrating a variety of swim strokes including synchronised and mermaid swimming. Aqua Warehouse is kindly lending its 12ft Vita XF2 swim spa model featuring the new ACS cover, whilst SPATEX is sponsoring the heating of the water.
The campaign invites swim schools, clubs and leisure facilities to participate in fund raising for the month of February – Heart Month. Monies raised will fund vital research into heart and circulatory diseases.
Ahead of the three-day showcase, SPATEX Organiser Michele Bridle has congratulated the Coventry Building Society Arena and its new owners, the Frasers Group, and proclaimed that the venue is a great place to do business.
“We are delighted to hear that all staff are to be retained and that it’s business as usual,” said Michele.
“We very much look forward to returning to the venue which underwent a £10million upgrade in time for the staging of some of the Commonwealth Games programme this summer.
“Little wonder then that the Arena was the recent recipient of the prestigious AEO Excellence Awards Venue of the Year Less Than 20,000 sqm. After nine years of exhibiting in Coventry, it’s come to feel like ‘home’ for SPATEX – small enough to have the personal touch but large enough to support excellent communication links and the high standards of a top international venue.”
During SPATEX there will be an impressive double seminar programme thanks to the Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers (ISPE), Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS), Institute of Swimming (IoS), STA, Legionella Control Association (LCA) and Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG),
Following the completion of the first day of SPATEX 2023 on January 31, the BSPF will be rolling out its annual Industry Gala Evening, which is proclaimed as the biggest social event for the pool and hot tub industry, with the British Pool & Hot Tub Awards ceremony hosted by BISHTA and SPATA.
