SPATEX 2022 bursting with new launches

SPATEX organisers have proclaimed that the 2022 live edition will be bursting with the latest new launches and innovations all under one roof at the newly-named Coventry Building Society Arena.

With this being the show’s 25th live exhibition anniversary, this is one special and bumper edition of SPATEX that is not to be missed, according to SPATEX Organiser Michele Bridle. This is due to the fact that the first live SPATEX show in two years has resulted in many exhibitors being eager to showcase two years’ worth of new products, including Spa Solutions, which is promoting its Vortex Spas distributor status and new Vortex Pergola product designs, pictured.

Michele has revealed that many companies have requested larger stands to increase their exhibitor presence and accommodate all the new launches. This makes SPATEX 2022 the biggest and most packed show to date from Tuesday, February 1, to Thursday, February 3.

“Attracting companies from ten different countries, the show will have a truly international, vibrant feel,” explains Michele.

“Plus, we look forward to welcoming to Coventry, 16 new companies. We are proud to be the only dedicated UK event where our visitors are guaranteed to see over a thousand industry contacts in just one day.”

Spa-spangled exhibitors

With 40 spa-associated companies set to exhibit, including top USA hot tub brands among the world’s leading spa, hot tub and swim spa names, including European manufacturer Wellis, plus some new contenders, Michele believes the 2022 show is a mecca for those involved in the hot tub and the spa sectors.

“As they are wishing to keep their launches under wraps until the great reveal, many exhibitors have been reluctant to release details in advance but all the indicators point to this being a record-breaking year for new products,” divulged Michele.

Not only will SPATEX provide a unique and comprehensive overview of what is available, there will also be a host of exclusive show offers and competitions that will not be replicated anywhere else. In addition to spas and hot tubs, all water leisure sectors are featured, both domestic and commercial, from water features, saunas and steam rooms to swimming pools, enclosures and tiling, as well as the more functional elements like chemicals and heating and ventilation.

Bumper guidance

Much more than just a great wet leisure exhibition, SPATEX is a place to pick up new skills and knowledge and all the latest health and safety advice, regulations and guidance. Repeating the success of previous years, a double seminar programme is planned, which is once again free and accessible to all.

The Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers (ISPE) will host its highly-popular workshop programme in Arena 1 with all attendees receiving CPD points and a certificate of attendance.

On the first day there is a change to take in a talk entitled Inactivation of SARS-CoV-2 in Chlorinated Swimming Pool Water, by Alex Blackwell, who is Group Head of Facilities & Operational Management at Water Babies Group Ltd, which provides infant swimming classes,

As part of his talk, Alex will be discussing research conducted in 2021 and partially funded by the SPATEX Foundation. The study found that chlorinated water, providing it meets UK swimming pool guidelines, is sufficient to reduce SARS-CoV-2 by at least three orders of magnitude.

Arena 1 highlights include:

Tuesday, February 1, 10:15am – 10:35am, Health and Safety Update for the spa operator -An annual update on legislation and cases over the past 12 months and details of forthcoming changes.

Wednesday February 2, 11am – 11.20am, Water treatment for display spas – What are your responsibilities to your staff and customers?

Thursday February 3, 12 – 12.30pm, Shock treatment for spas – why and how? Keeping your water safe, inviting and free from harmful bacteria does not need to be hard work but prevention is better than cure and regular shock dosing is a must to support your routine sanitation programme.

Awash with experts

With SPATEX being awash with water leisure experts, this year’s exhibition is certainly the place to seek direct free, impartial, advice. As well as ISPE and its representatives, SPATEX is fortunate to count esteemed associations, such as PWTAG and STA, amongst its supporting partners.

Both of these organisations will be giving talks in Arena 2 during the course of the exhibition, with full details available on the SPATEX website, which includes details of COVID-secure procedures for exhibitors and visitors.

If you require assistance during SPATEX then the place to find expert guidance is at the Help Desk, which will be located at the entrance to the hall.

Big reunion

As promised as the clock ticks down to the doors opening at SPATEX 2022, there will be ‘The Big Reunion’. This traditional networking event on Wednesday, after the show closes at 5pm, will help celebrate the show’s 25th live exhibition anniversary. Everyone is invited for free drinks, canapes, and a crazy selection of party hats in the Arena’s Clubhouse Bar.

Registration for SPATEX is free, which can be completed online before arrival, and visitors can also turn up on the day and take advantage of 2,000 free car parking spaces at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
