Chill Tubs study collaboration

Superior Wellness Managing Director Rob Carlin is collaborating with a health innovation company as part of a 30-day study to assess the benefits of utilising Chill Tubs as part of a daily routine.

TransformNow, which was bestowed with UK Fitness Awards in 2019 for Science and Innovation, is working in partnership with Chill Tubs to assess what happens to different aspects of body levels after using the ice bath every day for 30 days. Superior Wellness promoted Chill Tubs technology at SPATEX 2023, and has been highlighting how it can have multiple health improvement impacts, such as reducing muscle soreness, improving recovery time, decreasing inflammation, and improving circulation.

Dr Imran Khan, who launched TransformNow in 2013, has over 20 years’ experience in the health sector on both a practical and academic level and is supporting Rob Carlin’s participation in the Chill Tubs study. Before commencing this 30-day schedule, Rob travelled to TransformNow’s Birmingham office to meet Dr Khan, pictured standing, and undergo a wide range of assessments to measure various body levels.

These included: Inflammation Levels: C-Reactive Protein (CRP), Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) and Interleukin-6 (IL-6); Testosterone Levels: Total Testosterone Test and Free Testosterone Test; Additional Markers: Cortisol Levels, Complete Blood Count (CBC), Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) and Creatinine, Liver Function Tests and Lipid Profile; Subjective Markers: Energy Levels, Sleep Quality and Mood; Bodyfat Percentage; Expiration Lung Volume Test; Advanced Epigenetic Test; Blood Pressure Test; and ECG.

Rob will be monitoring his body levels and health during the 30-day schedule and believes it is going to be tough at first, but is confident about gaining positive health marker results.

“I want to see how daily ice baths change my body and health,” reported Rob; “I’m going to track this with blood tests and by checking my body fat.

“This will help me understand if ice baths can make me healthier, and I’ll share my findings with others interested in trying it too.”

“At first, I think the ice baths will be tough and uncomfortable but I hope that my body will get used to them over time. I’m expecting to see improvements in my health markers, like lower inflammation and increased testosterone levels.

“I also hope that I’ll feel better overall with more energy, better mood and better sleep.

“I plan to take ice baths daily. It’ll be a key part of my daily routine for becoming healthier and stronger.”

After completing the 30-day task, Rob is then going to have the same assessments previously conducted by Dr Khan to assess whether the Chill Tubs routine has had an impact on his body levels.

“It is great to be working with Rob on the impact an ice bath will have on his body by daily use for 30 days,” enthused Dr Khan.

“I am really excited to see the results.”
