Hot shot BSPF President signs off

BSPF President Pete Grinnall joined BSPF and BISHTA Managing Director Chris Hayes as the best hot shots during a ‘sign off’ networking and socialising weekend in Worcester.

The BSPF President’s Event was hosted by Pete, and his partner Hayley, at The Bank House Hotel, Spa & Golf Club in Bransford, Worcester to celebrate his two years in office and bring the industry closer together. Along with help from Chris Hayes and Jan Hardy, they welcomed guests for lunch at the hotel’s Garden Room restaurant before travelling by minibus to March Hare Leisure for an afternoon of activities; including clay pigeon shooting, and .22 Rifle shooting.

WhatSpa? Professional Pete, who is Managing Director of Artesian Spas, TidalFit, and Marquis specialist dealership Complete Spas based in Pinvin, was on target with Chris to achieve joint first place in the clay pigeon shooting and Hayley came out top in the rifle shooting.

During the evening, guests made a short journey from the hotel to Feli’s Bar and Restaurant in Hawbridge Stoulton, Worcester, which specialises in exquisite food from all over Europe, combined with delicious local ingredients. It also provided an opportunity to participate in a private cookery masterclass and the guests then had the chance to learn about sugar spinning and how to make a traditional Italian tomato sauce.

As BSPF President, Pete then signed off on an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) policy on behalf of the BSPF Board.  The policy has been shared with members of BISHTA and SPATA and its members, as well as PIP and SPATEX, for their support.

The development of the EDI policy has been due to the formation of a new EDI Working Group, which had its inaugural meeting facilitated by Chris Hayes in June. Contributors included Arun Sarna from Hot Tub Suppliers, Amanda Goddard from AstralPool UK, Jon Herbert from Rockingham Pools, and Sallie Leslie-Golding from PIP, BISHTA and SPATA.

BSPF thanked everyone who supported Pete’s event and expressed gratitude for all of his hard work and dedication during his time in office. Pete, pictured seated, will be passing over the presidency to Dyfed Thompson-Smith at the 2024 Industry Gala Evening, hosted by the BSPF on February 6, during the record-breaking SPATEX 2024 exhibition running from February 6 to 8 at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The annual gala evening, from 6:45pm, will also incorporate the 2024 British Pool & Hot Tub Awards ceremony, hosted by BISHTA and SPATA. Contact the BSPF via: admin@bspf.org for tickets before January 12
