SPATEX organisers have declared that the 2020 wet leisure showcase will be a ‘spa-tacular’ outing for those in the hot tub industry joining their pool industry counterparts at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
Ahead of the Ericsson Exhibition Hall doors opening to trade visitors on January 28, SPATEX Organiser Michele Bridle, who clocks up 21 years of working for the annual event this time around, has reported that almost a third of exhibiting companies at the UK’s only dedicated water leisure expo fall into the spa and spa-related sector.
“SPATEX 2020 looks set to be a spa-tacular event at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena,” declared Michele; “For those in the spa and hot tub business or anyone looking to purchase, this is a not-to-be-missed show!”
In recent years there have been stand out appearances from representatives from the hot tub sector and this time round booming hot tub and swim spa distributor Superior Spas will be one of the star attractions with fresh designs by USA manufacturer Dynasty Spas and is among a number of previous and new exhibitors showcasing new hot tub models and accessories from January 28 to January 30.
“The number of spa companies has increased year on year and it’s great that we are still attracting new names to the show!” reported Michele.
“Another returning exhibitor, Superior Spas, is adding the Dynasty Spas range featuring nine hot tubs of various sizes, along with four swim spas.”
Also representing USA hot tub manufacturing during SPATEX will be wet leisure powerhouse Certikin with its exclusive UK distributor status for the Caldera Spas options that have gained a hat-trick of 2019 WhatSpa? Best Buy Awards to boost the growing tally by Watkins Wellness.
European heavyweight Wellis is another WhatSpa? and WhatSwimSpa? Best Buy Award-winning hot tub and swim spa brand that will have another big stand presence for a successive appearance at SPATEX to promote its ‘Made in Europe’ products.
Last year Spa Solutions highlighted Southern Hemisphere-manufactured hot tub designs by launching the futuristic WhatSpa? Best Buy Award-winning Vortex IKON model, featuring an aluminium composite cabinet and acrylic shell that won a ‘Good Design Australia Gold Award’ in 2019, and the respected British distributor is back for another outing with additional options.
Softub UK will also be making a successive appearance and should be fitting in nicely with the ‘Green’ theme of the event at SPATEX with its highly eco-friendly hot tub heating functionality.
Visitors to SPATEX will again be able to take advantage of the popular free double ISPE organised seminar and workshop programme and this will also be supporting the Green theme. Talks and demonstrations will, amongst many other subjects, focus on how those in the wet leisure industry can play a part in becoming more eco-aware and in so doing, reduce bills.
VIP Guest for the 2020 British Pool & Hot Tub Awards, as part of the British wet leisure industry Gala Evening being hosted on January 28 at the Ricoh Arena during SPATEX is Jack Laugher MBE. He made British diving history at the 2016 Olympic Games by winning Gold and Silver Medals, making him the most successful British diver ever.
The BISHTA Awards categories are: Residential Hot Tubs Below £7,000 (inc VAT); Residential Hot Tubs £7,000 to £14,000 (inc VAT); Residential Hot Tubs £14,000 and Over (inc VAT); Swim / Exercise Spas; Hot Tubs Change Lives; Hot Tubs in a Holiday Setting; Hot Tub Happiness; Showroom of the Year; and Best Use of Digital Media.
Artesian Spas dealership North Spas, with a magnificent seven tally of awards that included Gold, Silver and Bronze recognition, was the best ‘combined winner’ from last year’s BISHTA Awards ceremony. Honours included a Gold Award in the ‘Hot Tubs Change Lives’ category and a Gold and Bronze Award in the same ‘Residential Hot Tubs £14,000 and Over’ category.
During this year’s ceremony hot tub dealers will also be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Award Leisure, which exclusively supplies the Regency Spas range along with Coast Spas hot tubs and swim spas throughout its thriving network of showrooms, by gaining multiple prestigious BISHTA Awards.
Along with a Gold Award in the ‘Residential Hot Tubs below £7,000’ category, and the ‘Hot Tubs in a Holiday Setting’ category, Award Leisure also achieved a Bronze Award in the ‘Hot Tub Happiness’ category.
RotoSpa was rewarded last time round for its professional online presence with a Gold Award in the ‘Best Use of Digital Media’ category and also gained a Gold Award in the ‘Hot Tubs Change Lives’ category.
Specialist Jacuzzi and Sundance Spas dealership Outdoor Living, which extended its Hull-based showroom last year, gained Bronze Award recognition for this site location before landing the Gold Award for its Leeds showroom, in the highly-prized and prestigious ‘Showroom of the Year’ category.
Fellow Jacuzzi retailer Oyster Pools & Leisure was bestowed with the ‘Peter Geekie Award for Retail Excellence’, sponsored by wet leisure powerhouse and Caldera Spas and Fantasy Spas hot tub distributor Certikin International.
